On Monday at the whole school assembly, we learnt that since the beginning of the Term 3, students have been acknowledged for 297 positive behaviours. This is a little down from the average. 119 were for the value of resilience, 38 for the value of respect and 140 for the value of responsibility.
Draw winners were, Eadie for Primary, and for the Secondary it was Cooper.
In regard to attendance, only 8 Primary students and 7 Secondary students have been present for every lesson this term. Sheena was our lucky attendee for the first half of Term 3.
While we need to stay away if we are unwell, it is important for our education that we attend every other day. Going to school every day is the single most important part of a child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day – missing school puts them behind. Each missed day is associated with progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading.
If your child must miss school, speak with your classroom teacher as early as possible. If you’re having attendance issues with your child, please let your year level coordinator, principal or other relevant staff member know so you can work together to get your child to school every day.
Book Week
26th of August to 30th of August
Charlton College will be celebrating Book Week this week! This year’s theme is Reading is Magic.
The highlight of Book Week is our dress-up day, which will be held on Friday 30th of August. We would encourage all students and staff to come dressed as a character from a book or from the theme. On Friday morning during Advisory (9.00am) the students and staff will gather outside to see each other’s costumes. There will be prizes for the best dressed.
This week’s focus is:
