Principal`s Message
As Term 3 comes to a close, the excitement for the upcoming holiday break is tangible. This term has been challenging, but it has also been marked by celebration and gratitude within our school community. We are incredibly fortunate to have a team of dedicated and passionate teachers and support staff who have provided stability and commitment during a period of significant change. Their dedication continues to inspire our students and create a nurturing educational environment.
Our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability. While many are thriving, we remain vigilant and supportive of those with complex needs and ongoing mental health concerns. We take pride in offering comprehensive support to all our students and are committed to delivering exceptional educational experiences. Our focus on inclusivity and support will remain central to our efforts as we move forward.
Parents / Caregivers/ Guardians Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting a survey to determine what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/ Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. It has recently be announced that the survey will remain open until the end of term 3. The survey is optional, but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
Student Pick up
We understand from time to time arriving for school pick-up can be troublesome. If for any reason you are going to be late please contact the office. If you are finding pick-up challenging, please contact Leap Kids and book into after-school care.
End of Term
This is a reminder that students will be dismissed early on Friday 20th September at 2.30pm. Parents/carers must make arrangements to collect their students an hour earlier than the usual time. Term 4 begins on Monday 7th October.
2025 Planning
To assist us in our planning for the 2025 school year it is imperative that we have as accurate a figure as possible of enrolments for 2025. If you have any kindergarten children ready for Prep next year or if you know anyone who intends to enrol their child at Fitzroy but hasn’t done so already, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible. It is equally important to know if any families of children currently in Prep to Year 5 are leaving Fitzroy in 2024. Please inform the office as soon as possible if your child/ren will not be returning next year.
