Baby Experience

Our Unit Two students in Health and Human Development are currently participating in the hands on ‘Baby Experience’ program. As part of this task, students are given the responsibility of caring for an infant simulator overnight.

The baby simulators are designed to mimic the needs and demands of a real infant, following a schedule that requires feeding, burping, rocking, and nappy changes. This eye-opening experience provides our students with a realistic understanding of the challenges and responsibilities that come with caring for a newborn.

Through this program, students are gaining valuable insights into the physical, emotional, and social aspects of parenting and childhood development. It’s been impressive to see them rise to the challenge, demonstrating patience, empathy, and responsibility as they navigate this unique learning opportunity.
