Student Wellbeing
Welcome back CGPS community, it is sure to be a big term 3!
In Semester 1, we introduced our Mental health in Primary schools (MHiPS) team to the Courtenay Gardens community. For those who may have missed our introduction, MHiPS is the new government initiative that has been launched in our school in 2024. This initiative was designed to support the mental health of our students by building the capability of our teachers in identifying and addressing mental health concerns of young people early. We also aim to promote good mental health.
The MHiPS team at CGPS:
In term 2, the focus of our MHiPS team was to create and deliver a mental health referral pathway (internal) to our staff. As a whole staff, we also undertook a range of professional learning around how to notice when a student is struggling with their mental health & how they can support them.
Over Semester 2 (term 3 & 4), the team will be delivering a range of learning for our CGPS community around mental health. Please stay tuned and keep an eye on our newsletter and social media for information on how to support your child with their mental health and wellbeing.
We will also be presenting some exciting parent education sessions in term 4. In order to support the future direction of these parent information sessions and the content displayed in our newsletter please consider completing the google form below. This will aide the MHiPS team in identifying what areas of mental health our families may benefit learning more about.
