OTHER INFORMATION

DISTRICT ATHLETICS

The Athletics Trials for the District Athletics Team that will compete on Monday September 9th are progressing along nicely. So far I have completed Shot Put, Discuss, High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Starting on Monday Aug 12 I will conduct the 100, 200 and 800 trials in PE classes. The FINALS morning for 100, 200 and 800 will be on Friday August 23 for the top 8 only per age group. Then starts the process of interviewing the children that have qualified in too many events. I will guide them and discuss with them their preferences. I can then review the pecking order of performances and start to formulate the team.

As you can imagine there has been quite a lot of absences due to illness. I have run some extra sessions and managed to trial many returning students in most events.

That said, in Week 6 on  Tuesday 20th  and Thursday 22nd of August I will be available for any final trials to be conducted at lunchtime as part of my Sporting Club offering. THIS IS ONLY FOR CHILDREN THAT HAVE BEEN ABSENT. These students need to see me about this by Friday the 16th August so that I can prepare the necessary equipment and spaces. ( Or parents can email me at Andrew.Yeaman@education.vic.gov.au)

I will then finalise and publish the team in week 7.

I encourage all students to keep up their fitness and we will be holding training sessions at school also.

I've seen some great performances and participation so far and am very much looking forward to the running over the next two weeks.

Thanks

WORKING BEE

We will be receiving the key to the new building on Friday August the 9th, 4 weeks ahead of schedule!!  The next stage is to move the furniture from the grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 classrooms into the new building.

To facilitate this, we will be holding a working bee on Saturday 10th August from 9am – 1.00pm and would appreciate any help that you can offer with the moving of furniture. We will start the morning with a tour of the building and morning tea will be provided.

Can I please ask that if you are able to help out that no children accompany parents as there will be a lot of heavy lifting and moving of furniture. Please RSVP via the link below so we can have an indication of who will helping.
