Principal Message

Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready
Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3!
I hope all of our students, families, and staff enjoyed a restful and refreshing winter break. It has been wonderful to see our school come alive again this week as classrooms have been filled with smiling faces, laughter, and excitement.
Our students have returned to school exceptionally well and have quickly settled back into their learning routines. It has been a pleasure to visit classrooms and hear the many wonderful stories of adventures shared over the holidays. Whether families travelled, spent time with loved ones, enjoyed local activities, or simply appreciated some quieter moments together, it is clear that the break provided many happy memories and opportunities to recharge.
During the holidays, I had the opportunity to spend some time organising our school shed. I was surprised to discover quite a collection of bicycles that appear to have been left behind from the 2025 school year! If your child left a bike at school towards the end of last year, could you please arrange to collect it by the end of this week? Any bicycles that remain unclaimed after this time will be considered for donation, ensuring they can be put to good use within the community.
As we begin a new term, there is already a real sense of enthusiasm throughout the school. Term 3 promises to be another busy and rewarding one, with many engaging learning experiences, special events, and opportunities for our students to continue growing academically, socially, and spiritually.
Sadly, our school community has also experienced two significant losses this week. Brendan's father, Louis, passed away on Saturday, and Wendy's father, Joe, passed away yesterday. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Brendan, Wendy, and their families during this difficult time. As a faith-filled community, we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers, praying that they may find comfort, strength, and peace in the love of family, friends, and our Lord.
At Our Lady Star of the Sea, we remain committed to nurturing each child's unique gifts within our caring Catholic community. We thank our families for their continued partnership and support, which plays such an important role in creating a positive and welcoming environment for all.
We look forward to sharing another wonderful term together and wish everyone a successful, happy, and hope-filled Term 3.
Warm regards,
Pamela McKillop
