Head of Primary School Message

What a cracker of a term we have had in Primary School!

Over the past few days, I’ve had the joy of chatting with many of our students about what they’ve been learned so far this term. The range has been incredible—everything from life cycles and idioms to counting and the lives of convicts. But even more exciting than the content has been the delight on students’ faces as they share. That sense of curiosity and enthusiasm is something we deeply value. Here in Primary School, we aim each day to nurture that God-given wonder and excitement for learning.

A couple of important reminders for the week ahead:

Mufti Day – Wednesday 1 April

Students are invited to wear clothes of their choice. Please remember:

  • Closed-in shoes (no Crocs or slippers)
  • Shoulders covered

We are raising money for our sponsor child, so we ask that each student brings a gold coin donation to participate.

Easter Assembly – Thursday Afternoon 2 April

On Thursday afternoon, we will gather for our Easter Assembly. As a Primary School, we will take time to reflect on the significance of Easter. As Christians, this is a deeply special time, remembering Jesus’ death and what it means for us. Through His death on the cross, our sins are taken away, and we are brought into relationship with God. We look forward to praising God together and also celebrating the wonderful learning that has taken place this term. Parents are warmly invited to join us at 2:30pm.

Wishing all our families a joyful and blessed Easter.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

Year 2 students spent an exciting day visiting the Wagga Wagga Botanical Gardens, the Wagga Wagga Zoo and Erin Earth in Turvey Park.

The excursion formed part of the Science unit on ‘Living Things’. During the term, students have been learning about animals and their habitats. Whilst at the Zoo, students looked at different animals, recorded what they saw, and took notes about where each animal lives.

The children were fascinated by the diverse range of native and exotic animals, including dingoes, camels, kangaroos, emus, reptiles, farm animals and more. Below are some of the students’ written responses to the excursion.

Tori: Brum, brum, we are on the bus to Erin Earth! When we got there, we saw a chicken coop, and we got to go in it. Then we got to see the worm farm.

Oscar:  We also saw beautiful nests of wasps and birds. We got to catch bloodworms, frogs, tadpoles and water bugs.

Stella: I loved the lizard lounge and in one of them I saw a blue tongue lizard.

Grace: We also went to Wagga Zoo. We saw Zeek the dingo, cattle, alpacas, deer, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, big and small birds, emus, donkeys, ponies, wallabies, kangaroos, camels and peacocks.

Ivy: I held a bird on my hand without any help. Birds are very calm when they trust you but some bite your fingernails too.

Hannah: It was a great excursion!
