Principal News

Welcome back to 2026.
Great Start
The students have had a wonderful start, despite all the changes, they have managed to develop consistent and calm routines very quickly which sets them up for success.
Building Works
The building works have commenced, although you will really notice the action from next week. There will be some demolition works, which we predominantly happen over a weekend. It is an exciting time, but safety is critical. Our builders are Baxter Projects and we thank them for working with us through this transition.
Pick Up and Drop Off
Thanks to all the parents who have been using Bottlebrush Drv to enter and exit the school. It is the safest option, along with the drivethru. If you are in the drivethru, please follow these guidelines:
- Remain in your car.
- Make sure your child knows you will be picking them up there.
- Teachers will fill the cars, whilst know one is moving, it is very safe.
- Please drive at 5km/h through the drivethru.
Whilst it will take a couple minutes to fill the cars, you will notice it moves very quickly and all cars are generally out by 3:28pm.
New Staff
We welcomed Mr Kelemen Dominic as an Education Support Employee and Mrs Catherine Backhouse, an experienced Counsellor to our team.
Our Theme
This year we will have a theme 'Raise the Bar'. This mantra will match everything we do, our effort, the way we treat people, and the search for growth. Seeking growth is critical mindset that will always set each of us up for success.
Attendance
Last year, our attendance levels dropped. This year, we want to raise the bar and make every day count. Students follow a structured curriculum where content flows and revision points are specifically built in. If students miss time, this ruptures the flow and makes academic progress difficult.
Thank you to the staff
A special shout out to the staff who have managed to move the whole school into 1/3 of the school, along with a new office and hall set up. I thank Fr Joby and the Parish for their support. The building is expected to be completed in September.
Staff Comittment
This year we want to ensure you feel comfortable within the school. This starts with a welcome BBQ next Thursday 12th February at 3pm. You can also find teacher profiles which you can put on the fridge, so you get to know our teachers. You will get two teacher profiles, because each class has a class teacher and lead teacher. This means you child get more support, more often.
Here is a short video I sent out last week. Thanks to the 53 families who watched it. We will send these out in alternate weeks.
