Student Representative Council
This year, one of my roles is working alongside our student executives to lead the Student Representative Council (SRC). SRC is an important part of student life at Uraidla Primary School, giving students a genuine voice in our school and helping them develop valuable leadership skills in a meaningful and supportive environment.
During Weeks 2 and 3, each class will take part in the process of selecting two students to represent their class at our Friday SRC meetings. Teachers will guide students through this process, which often includes students speaking in front of their classmates about what would make them a good representative. To ensure more students have the opportunity to experience this role, each class will have four SRC members across the year — two in Semester 1 and two in Semester 2. Students who were SRC members in 2025 will not be eligible this year, allowing others to develop these important skills.
Our weekly SRC meetings will include:
- Recognising members of our community we are grateful for
- A weekly discussion topic
- Sharing positives from around the school
- Student ideas and suggestions
In 2026, there will also be a strong focus on SRC members helping to run and organise key events across the school. The first event our SRC will be involved in organising is Harmony Day combined with Grandparents and Special Persons Day.
We look forward to sharing many of these student-led ideas and initiatives with you throughout the year.
