Road Safety

The Maroondah City Council have been in contact with the school informing they will be patrolling around our school during drop off and pick up times ensuring that cars are following the road signs. See the information from the MCC below.

While it's not a law, we do ask that during these times (8:25-8:40am and 2:55-3:15pm) that cars don't go up Byron Street from Mullum Mullum Road as this causes a build-up of traffic and can cause our buses to run late.

At no stage should parents enter the school grounds to drop off or pick up students, this includes reversing out of the NSC driveways. We have large numbers of students exiting and entering via both gates and this is a major safety risk.

Bus Safety

Every night the principal team are out to support students on the buses, there have been days where the 2461 bus has been full, we will always support students if this happens to find an alternative way home. The school has been in contact with the department of transport and our local MP's to attempt to get a bigger bus, however at this stage we haven't been successful.

I urge students to continue to tap on with their youth MYKI's so we have accurate data on how many students are catching public transport.
