As we reach the exciting end of another school year, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Year 10 students. Throughout Term 4, they have shown impressive focus and determination, completing all assessment tasks with genuine effort and a willingness to grow. It has been a privilege to teach them and to work alongside them as their Year 10 Coordinator. Their enthusiasm, sense of community, and developing independence have been wonderful to witness.
I wish all students and their families a very Merry Christmas and a safe, enjoyable New Year. We look forward to welcoming them back in 2026, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the new academic year.

As we come to the end of the school year, the year 11s have been working diligently and enthusiastically to complete coursework throughout the year. Throughout the term, the year 11 classes were able to implement great community engagement initiatives to raise awareness to support a cause of their choice. 11B and 11C were able to raise awareness towards drug addiction whilst putting together a sausage sizzle for the college. 11A ran a whole school pyjama day, whilst collecting donations for the salvation army to raise awareness for kids in foster care. This was a huge success for many around the college. The students need to be commemorated on the way they have conducted themselves throughout the year, especially during their raising awareness activities, where they were able to demonstrate great teamwork and leadership skills whilst preparing food for the vulnerable.
Erin, Paris, Glenn, Tracey, Sarah and I have had the privilege of watching these students grow and flourish into young adults, we wish them nothing but success and happiness as they finish their studies at Peter Lalor Secondary College. It has been an absolute pleasure, and the year wouldn’t have been so successful without the support of this cohort.
Ourania Dounias - Personal Development Skills
This year for Personal Development Skills we looked at a range of issues that affect our community as part of our unit on Community Engagement. We researched and discussed a range of issues that were global, national and local. At the local level we looked at the issues faced by the elderly and visited OXA in Epping. At the national level we looked at the social issue of Youth Crime. We met with a range of different and engaging stakeholders that provided us an insight into their role and the work they do with the community. This provided our students opportunities to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the different stakeholders and their perspectives.
The students thoroughly enjoyed interacting with them and confidently lead the questions and discussions with the various speakers.
Our guest speakers included:

Wishing all our students and school community a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
