Week 1 Lent

Sunday the 9th March is the first Sunday of Lent.

In Sunday’s Gospel we hear how Jesus spent 40 days in the desert.

We reflect on times when we have had desert-like experiences and remember that God is always present in our lives when we are feeling sad, lonely and hopeless.

Lenten Prayer

Loving God,

Help us to remember your promise to be with us always, 

to guide us in our lives and bring us closer to you.

In this special time of Lent, 

we pray that you strengthen us in our desert times, 

and trust in you with all our hearts.

We ask this prayer through Jesus, your Son.
