The Year 11 VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies class took on an exciting challenge at URBN Surf this term.  This session combined hands-on surfing lessons with essential water safety skills.

Under expert guidance, students practiced paddling, balancing, reading and riding waves. For many, this was their first time surfing: an exciting and rewarding experience.

Students also participated in a water safety session, where they learned very important skills that we hope they never need to use.  But just in case, they learned how to perform CPR, the first aid method of DRSABCD, and the ultra-important skill of how to escape a rip current.

This session reinforced the importance of staying safe in aquatic environments. This dynamic experience served to build our students' confidence in the water and equipped them with valuable safety knowledge for future outdoor adventures.
