Our Leaders

School Leaders:

On Tuesday, March 4th, the Student Leaders went to the GRIP Leader Conference. Our parents dropped us off at the train station around 7:20 in the morning, and we got on the train at 7:50.

We had an express train on the way there which got us there around 8:30. We had to walk to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which took about 20 minutes.  We all got a little booklet that we used to write in. We had three sessions, all talking about different things. We learnt a lot of new things.

The leaders have gotten their badges. Sonya Kilkenny presented the badges in assembly  on Friday 14th of March. All Leaders are proud and happy to represent the school and community. We also had International Women's Day. The School Captains who went to the event hosted by Sonya Kilkenny

We have some new students we would like to talk about. They have started school this year... the preppies!

The new Preps this year are Bodhi, Sapphire, Lincoln, Zariah, Errol, Eva, Vincent, Hazel, Harper, Hunter, Leo, Remy, Marlon, Alex, Ethan, Virajvir, Julian and Evie.

We also have some new students who started this year. They are Mayson and Ivy in Year 6, Lillie and Charlotte in Year 5, Sarina in Year 4. Maggie, Hunter and Lilly in Year 2.

House Captains:

This term we have been practising for interschool athletics. The students have practised for High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and Shot Put.

We have a Softball and Basketball team. At the start, the softball team had thirteen signups and the Basketball team had around sixteen applicants.

Interschool athletics is happening in term 2. It’s going to be so much fun.

Art Leaders:

Bring your art smock to school!

Ms Jones would love for you to bring your art smock to school. Sometimes if you don't bring your art smock and you are doing something messy, you might not be able to do art. If paint gets on your school shirt it would be ruined and it might not come off. But if you wear your art smock you won't get dirty at all! So bring your art smock so you can do messy stuff!

Recently the photos of the Preps' favourite books have been put up in the Atrium and their favourite books are the following: Lincoln- Land Romers, Zarriah-Where’s Spot?, Sapphire-My Times Tables, Errol-The very Itchy Bear, Hazel-Patricia, Harper - Starpuff, Bodi-The Body Process, Eva-Dragon vs Dinosaur, Remi-Dragon vs Dinosaur, Hunter-The Code King, Marlon-Starpuff, Alex-The Body’s Process, Leo-The Big Times! Sing 2, Virajvir-Dragon vs Dinosaur, Vincent-My Very First Space Book, Julian-The Big Time! Sing 2, Evie-Starpuff. Knowing that the Preps have found their favourite books means that they have developed their ability to make quick decisions. All of the Preps have made us very proud and we are looking forward to helping them learn to read their favourite books so they can enjoy their favourite story whenever they like.

Environment Leaders:

 Recycling

The School Leaders have been going around the school picking up rubbish from the students not putting their rubbish in the bin from Icy pole day. We have seen lots of rubbish, not just icy pole wrappers. Please make sure you have a nude lunchbox with no wrappers and if you are taking food into the yard, leave the wrappers in the bin in your classroom.  We need to work together to keep our school beautiful and clean!
