Parents Action Group (PAG)
Ms Mitchell is asking for a parent representative from each classroom to assist with P&FG activities and fundraising. Please reply via ClassDojo if you can help out. This is a great opportunity to be a part of your child's school and all the fun that goes with it.
School Council
School Council AGM will be held on March 26 at 6pm at ETRPS. We will farewell and thank members that have served for the last two years - Bec E and Roh D. Their contribution to our school is invaluable - thank you. We will welcome new members to SC - Lisa, Regis, Mirrisa and Megg. I thank our parents for your interest and our community member for joining the team. School Council has a full composition for 2025-2027. Deb F remains our President.
Reading
We promote reading every night at home, here at ETRPS. It is extremely rewarding when we see parents/carers involved in supporting this to happen. Well done to Anna and Kadyn who have received their 25 night award already.
Buddies Launch
Buddies at ETRPS has been launched. All students will have a buddy to work with, teach and learn from throughout the year. We will be holding Buddy sessions in rotation on Wednesdays in session 5. The program connects to our school values of Respect, Inclusion, Responsibility, Resilience and (Academic Excellence).
Helmets
It is apparent that some students are either not wearing their helmets when riding a scooter and or bike, to and from school; or, are removing the helmet upon exiting from the school gates.
Please note: Helmets are to be worn when riding bikes and scooters by law. We want to ensure your child is as safe as possible when travelling to and from school. Please talk with your child, at home, about the importance and safety aspects of wearing their helmet. Modelling this behaviour is really important too.
Please be aware that we can support families in the purchase of a helmet if required
School Crossing
We are very lucky to have a school crossing that is operational and is actively keeping our students and families safe. Wilkinson Drive is a very busy road and it is imperative that our students and their families use the crossing ensuring the safety of all road users before and after school.
While many of our families are making use of the crossing, some families are choosing to cross the road at other points. We strongly encourage our parents and carers to lead by example and use the crossing when making their way to and from our school grounds. We want our students to develop safe road habits for when they become old enough to make their way to and from school independently. We appreciate your support with this.
Pick-up & Drop Off
Parents: can you please help us keep your children safe at drop off times. The gates are opened at 8.35 am. Prior to this time, there is no supervision. Children have been seen to be running in the bus bay, on the footpaths and in the gardens. There has been near misses, and reports made to us regularly, as the community is extremely worried an accident is looming.
Students are to wait at the gate calmly until staff attend.
SunSmart Policy: Hats On
All students are required to wear their broad brimmed hats, even when playing or participating in activities under any shelters.
Our SunSmart Policy is based upon the Cancer Council guidelines that hats should be worn when UV levels are above 3 on the index (usually around the beginning of September in each year). We source this information from the following website:
www.bom.gov.au/products/UV/Bendigo_VIC.shtml
Please remember that only our school hats may be worn. These can be purchased from the office for $10
1st September… Hats Remember.
1st May… Hats off Day.
