Vox Pop Excursion
VM Literacy
On Tuesday the 18th of February every student in VM Literacy went on the4 Vox Pop Excursion.
A Vox Pop is a short interview that is designed to get the opinions of different members of the public.
We were supposed to interview random people around Knox Westfield asking them a variety of different questions. In class, to prepare, we learned how to ask open or closed questions. We also learned how to ask them multiple other follow up questions to get a good response.
Our Vox Pops were on digital issues. Digital issues often stem from cybersecurity vulnerabilities, data privacy concerns, and the spread of misinformation. As technology advances, addressing these challenges becomes crucial to ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital environment.
We did the interview to apply our skills in writing questions and using language in different ways with different audiences. We were also trying to get people to gain confidence when talking to people we don’t know. With this it will help us when doing interviews or talking to people in the workplace.
Interviewing people in public was very fun but also a challenge.
