Hello! My name is Sarah Higgins and I’m the new PFA President for 2025. Firstly, I’d like to thank the volunteers who have formed the 2025 Committee – we’re going to have a great year!
What’s on? – our 2025 event calendar
We have planned a series of events for the year – our annual favourites (Disco and Mother’s Day Stall) are already booked in, and the much loved Colour Run will be returning in Term 4 as this year’s major event. We will be re-opening Beanie sales throughout term 2 and 3 and we also have the Entertainment memberships available year-round (see below)
Our first event for the year is Crazy Hair Day, on Tuesday April 1. For a gold coin donation our kids are encouraged to come to school with their craziest hair styles.

As we start to organise our bigger events (Mother’s Day Stall, Disco & Colour Run) we’ll be calling for parent volunteers. Anybody wishing to help out should ensure they have a Working with Children’s Check. Volunteer checks are free and can be applied for here - https://www.vic.gov.au/working-with-children-check
2024/2025 Fundraising Update & Target
The PFA have been working hard to raise funds to extend the walkways from the Grade 3 / 4 classrooms at the back of the oval across to the Grade 5 classrooms at the Rozzy Parade end. This hard work, and the generosity of our parent base, have allowed the school to raise nearly $40,000 over the last 2 years’ PFA events.
The school council have recently received quotes for the walkways, with the total looking at approximately upward of $150,000. We’re determined to install walkways and provide shelter for our grade 5 students. We’ll be keeping you all appraised of our progress as our fundraising efforts continue throughout the year.
Entertainment Membership (formerly the Entertainment Book)
The Entertainment Membership (previously the Entertainment Book) is an app based membership program that provides discounts for hundreds of Australian Eateries, Attractions & Activities, Retail & Local services, Gift Cards and Travel & Leisure bookings.
The price is $70 for a single city or $120 for a multi city membership and Oatlands Primary School receives 20% from every membership sold, so please invite your family and friends to support us as well.
