Our 2024 Swimming Carnival is being held on Friday 16th February, 2024. This event requires online consent/permission to be completed by Friday 9th February, 2024
It will be a daytime Swimming Carnival at Tamworth Swimming Pool (Kable Avenue, Cnr Bridge St) commencing at approximately 9:30am and finishing at approximately 2:00pm.
The Swimming Carnival is part of our school sports program and ALL Primary aged children, along with Infants students who are turning 8 years old in 2024 and can COMPETITIVELY swim 50m, are expected to be there. (Infants children should be turning 8 years old in 2024 and must be able to swim 50m COMPETITIVELY). If your child is in year 2 and not competing at the carnival, they will attend school as usual.
All Primary children will travel to the carnival by bus and arrive at the pool at 9:15am under the supervision of teachers. At the conclusion of the carnival, all students will travel back to school for their regular way of transport home. Parents of Infants children who are attending the Carnival are asked to organise transport to and from the pool or alternatively to and from the primary school campus to allow 8yr old infants swimmers to be bussed with Year 3 classes.
Please note the St Ed’s School Canteen WILL ONLY be operating on Friday 16th February, 2024 for INFANTS STUDENTS ONLY.
On Friday 16th February children will need to:
*Wear their full sports uniform including school hat
*Bring enough food and water to last through the Swimming Carnival
*Bring their swimming bag to school with swimmers, sunscreen, towel, goggles etc. Children will change at school.
Online Permission and Swimming Assessment
*No child will be allowed access to the pool at the Swimming Carnival without a completed evaluation of their swimming ability and submitted by his/her Parent/Carer. This will allow the children to go in the corresponding events at the carnival.
There will be limited non swimming events at the carnival this year due to the town’s pool not having a large “little” pool. I strongly encourage you to put your child in the 25m events if they are capable of doing so to avoid sitting around and watching all day. This will also allow your child to cool off and gain house points for their house.
Good luck to the following students who will be travelling to Lismore to play for the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Summer Trials.
Primary aged students only. Aussie Hoops will be available for Infants students. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for this information.

Please keep a lookout for these in your cupboards, school bags, dirty clothes baskets, even under beds. We are still missing a considerable amount of shirts which will be required to be handed back in this term.
You are able to order both the St Edward's Netball and St Edward's Basketball uniform by using the Compass app.
HOW TO ORDER:
1.Click on the compass app
2. Select more (bottom right corner)
3. Select canteen
4. Select child
5. Select day (tomorrow's date)
6. Select uniform menu
Simply select size and the uniform will be handed to your child at school the day selected. Please keep all tags on until you are happy with the size after trying on to allow a simple exchange at the primary canteen.
If your child is in Year 6 and does not have a sibling to hand their netball/basketball uniform to, could you consider donating or selling your uniform through the school? We are always looking for second hand uniforms for our new families and new students to the sport. Please see Mrs Bridge in the Canteen for more information around this.
