Battle of the Bands

We all had a great time at the Battle of the Bands on Monday 18 March on the PVC Green.

It was awesome to see bands made up of Years 7 to 12 students performing different styles and pieces. A big thank you to everyone who took part - you all made it such a fun and entertaining event!

Welcome to Darcy Gilkerson – Cello teacher

Darcy Gilkerson is a Melbourne-based cellist and composer with a passion for contemporary classical and improvisatory chamber music.

Performing in venues across the country and touring with various orchestras and ensembles, Darcy has found a home on the stage.

His current project, the ‘Darcy Gilkerson Septet’, have performed Darcy's original compositions at the Tempo Rubato, Paris Cat, Longplay, the Brunswick Green and St Stephens Anglican Church in Melbourne.

Darcy is very excited to be releasing his debut album this year, which will be a collection of his chamber works for Octet and Quintet.

As a composer and performer, Darcy's music explores themes of self-discovery, empowerment and joy. Using his skills as a performer, teacher and composer, Darcy’s goal is to invite his audience into a musical conversation and to engage in an exchange of emotion between performer and listener.
