Principal Post

 Dear Families,

Congratulations and thank you for  all your

work to ensure that your child/children have begun well. For the most part our students have settled and are clearly happy to be back with friends and teachers.  We want our students to flourish in their learning and social interactions so it is important that everyone is punctual and ready for learning. Ensure students have a good night sleep,  a healthy breakfast and an organised structured routine will assist.  For those students who may be anxious we encourage a positive mindset.

Welcome to new students

This week we welcome Selena to Foundation Aarav to  Year 3 and Paul to Year 4. To these students and their families, we hope that your time with us is full of learning and community support!

Opening School Mass – Friday 9th February 9am

A reminder that you are all welcome to gather with us this Friday 9th February at 9am for our Opening School Mass. It is an important occasion as  we gather as a Faith Community to ask continued blessings for our Parish School and for ourselves and others.

At this Mass we will welcome our Foundation Students, other students new to our community as well as new staff.  We will also issue our Students Captains and Leaders their badges for 2023. The staff will also be 'commissioned' in our roles.

There will be a Morning Tea for the all Year 6 Leaders and  their parents in the Performing Arts area straight after Mass.

Lunar New Year

To the many families

who are observing and celebrating the Lunar New Year this week/ weekend, we wish you every blessing for  your family and loved ones.  Happy New Year!  We offer you our gratitude and wish you a year full of prosperity and good fortune.

School Photos - SchoolPix

A reminder that school Photos will be taken next Monday  MONDAY 12th February.   Students are to wear Summer Uniform and black shoes. We ask all Year 6 students to bring their school Rugby top. (These were sent home today).

If parents wish to have their child's hair 'out' for the photo, this is fine, but please ensure that your child has a hair tie to use, post photo.

Beginning of the Year Assessments

Thank-you to all students from Year 1-6 that attended the beginning of year assessment sessions on Tuesday or Wednesday last week.  These assessments provide teachers with essential information about each students academic strengths and challenges.  The data collected from these assessments help to inform the learning and teaching program within the classroom and assist teachers in measuring student growth over the year.  Our Foundations students will complete their beginning of the year assessments during their Wednesday rest days.

Working With Children

This year will will have many opportunities for families to help support and be part of school activities such as Parent Helpers, Camp, Excursions, lunchtime clubs and  P&F events. Due to Child Safety Standard no one can help at school events with students present without a  current Working with Children.

Applying for a check is free for volunteer.
