Swimming - Wednesday 7th of February

We will have one swimming session before our carnival on the 8th of February. This will allow our new Kindergarten students to experience some of the games they will play in the little pool at our carnival. Students and teachers will be heading to Werris Creek Swimming Pool at 11.30am and we will return to school by 1:15pm (lunchtime). Any students wishing to dive whilst competing in our swimming carnival will complete a dive test in this session. Sports uniform will need to be worn on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

What to bring:  for school swimming and on carnival day.

  • swimmers
  • Rashie (sun protection shirt). An old tight t-shirt will do if you do not have a rash shirt.  (competitive swimmers do not need to wear a rash shirt in their events).
  • Sunscreen - the school provides sunscreen. If your child needs a particular brand then please have them bring that with them in their swim bag.
  • Towel
  • Goggles - if preferred.
  • Thongs, slides or crocs. These are much easier to put on after swimming.

Swimming carnival specific requirements -

  • Students will need to wear their swimmers underneath their sports uniform to school. They will not be getting changed at school before the bus arrives.
  • students can wear a shirt the same colour as their colour house
  • Coloured zinc may be worn

Swimming Carnival 2024

Our annual swimming carnival will be held this Thursday the 8th of February, 2024. Our carnival time has changed and is now a day carnival to be held during school hours. Buses will pick students up from school at 9am, enabling normal school drop off for all students. The carnival will start at approximately 9:30am and conclude by 2:30pm. Students will then be brought back to school for normal afternoon travel arrangements. We would love as many parents and family members to attend as possible and will still need volunteers to make the running of our carnival a success for our students.

BBQ

Our amazing PT&F will be running a BBQ on the Carnival day. There will be a preorder system with more information to follow in the PT & F section of the newsletter.
