Focus on Learning

Welcome back everyone and a special welcome to our new families. Our classrooms look amazing as the teachers have set them up for this exciting new year. The teachers are establishing routines, our Living Well Learning Well framework and having some fun getting to know the students in our classrooms.

Miss Pilgrim who was married in the holidays and is now Mrs Nichols has had a busy few days doing Best Start with all our Kindergarten students. Below you can see Millicent Lee doing her Best Start activities.

Stage 1 has been doing a lot of welcoming activities about getting to know each other. Mrs Crane and Mrs Gamble are establishing the classroom expectations and routines. The students are settling in really well and lots of great work is happening. Below see the Stage 1 students doing 2D shape activities.

Stage 2 is so lucky this year as they have three teachers in their classroom this semester. Miss Megan (Meg) Humphrey joins the 3-4 team this year as an early career teacher and she will work closely with Mrs Wilson and Mrs Canham. The students have been getting to know each other and learning about everything that we do in Stage 2. They have set up their Chromebooks, learned how their workbooks are presented and worked with the Living Well Working Well framework to establish our expectations for this year. Stage 3 has also been using Living Well Learning Well framework to set up their classroom expectations and guidelines. They have been getting to know each other and doing some fantastic artwork about themselves. They have also been focusing on how important it is to monitor our mindset during the day. Then they are able to express their emotions by using the check in station Mrs Bartholomew has set up in their classroom. Below you can see the check in station and the class doing some line drawings.
