Flipout Derrimut

The Year 12 Sports and Recreation class traveled to Derrimut, to attend Flipouts Trampoline Center on Friday 22 March. The students were tasked with role-playing a health and safety inspector, looking at a range of hazards that exist in a sports and recreation setting, and making suggestions for how the space could be modified to be safer. The students did well to identify a range of hazards that exist in sports settings, including things like stairs, tripping hazards, and even the trusty trampoline. After undertaking their risk assessment of the trampoline area, students played on the trampolines, impressing everyone in the center with their athleticism and jumping prowess.

When students are back in term 2, the class will develop a safety plan for the center and will have finished their first unit.

Well done to the class for their great work!
