Prep Update

Upcoming learning:

During the next fortnight, Prep students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Week 8 and 9: Students will engage in daily Phonics lessons, focusing on the letter sounds of /t/, /k/and /i/ following the Little Learners Love Literacy sequence. Students will also investigate and discuss rhyming words.
Writing	Week 8 and 9: Students will learn the correct letter formation of the letters /t/, /c/ and /i/. They will also explore and begin to write simple sentences beginning with 'I am...'.
Maths	Week 8: Students will learn to subitise small collections of objects to six. Week 9: Students will develop their ability to name and sort familiar 2D shapes.
Inquiry	Week 8 and 9: Our main topic this term is Identity. Over the next two weeks students will focus on being safe in the sun and making healthy food choices.
Social and Emotional	Week 8 and 9: Students will develop their understanding of Harmony Day and how to demonstrate acceptance with their words and actions. They will also continue to develop their 'growth mindset' by using the words, “I can’t do it YET”.

Blue Reader Bags- We are still waiting for the blue reader bags to be delivered to the school. We hope they will arrive soon so we can send them out before the end of Term 1. We will keep you posted!
Easter Parade - Thursday 28th March. The parade will be held at 9am on the basketball court. We encourage all students to construct their own Easter hats at home to wear on the day. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative designs. Students who don’t have the opportunity to create a hat at home will have the ability to wear a back-up one created at school with their buddies.
Free Dress Day- Thursday 28th March. Gold coin donation raising money for the Good Friday Appeal.
