Upcoming Learning for week 8 & 9
- Reading - To use skimming and scanning to locate facts and details in a text.
- Writing- To plan, draft and publish a piece of poetry that follows the correct structure.
- Maths- To use a range of subtraction strategies to solve problems.
- Maths- To use a grid reference system to describe locations and describe routes using landmarks and directional language.
- Health- To investigate strategies which promote teamwork and reduce conflict.
- Social and Emotional Learning-To practise strategies that support us when we feel stressed.

NAPLAN
Congratulations to the Year 5 students who undertook NAPLAN testing. We are proud of the enthusiasm and resilience you showed during the testing period. We wish you luck with your results.
SURVIVOR DAY
Survivor Day will take place on Tuesday the 26th March (Week 9). Students will have the opportunity to dress up in a theme decided upon by their team. Grade 5 and 6 classes have been split into two teams per grade and will compete against each other in events that promote teamwork, communication and problem solving.
HOMEWORK
A focus of Year 5 is developing speed and fluency with multiplication facts. Students are encouraged to learn their multiplication and division facts to support them with other areas of Mathematics as the year progresses.
Reading each night is an ongoing expectation. Reading can be tracked in students' diaries or through Epic.
