TCE Reasonable Adjustments

Reasonable adjustmentsapplications for TCE and IB students are now underway. The cut off dates for applications are at the beginning of May but to support students it is very important that these are done early.

 

If your child is in Year 11 this year, and they have had a diagnosis, then we will be in contact shortly to discuss and arrange applications for adjustments.  

 

If your child is new to the School, and has a diagnosis, or believes that they are requiring adjustments for exams and tests, please contact: Joe Cairns, Sarah Walker, Catherine Gray or Annabelle Black.

Year 9 Program

Thursday 29 February - Friday 1 March

The first event for Year 9 students is coming up on Thursday 29 February - Friday 1 March.

 

Students will stay afterschool for workshops, dinner and will stay the night in WN Oats. They will then get up early for a kunanyi sunrise, before walking back to school.

Outdoor Education opportunities 

Sign up due - Friday 16 February

Years 10 to 12 students have all been sent emails outlining Outdoor Education opportunities for the year. These are all opt in opportunities, so we ask that you discuss these with your children. If they are interested and their calendar is clear, could they please sign up by Friday 16 February.

Co-curricular Ceramics 

This activity offers students the opportunity to work on self-directed ceramics projects, learn a variety of ceramic techniques and enjoy working in a relaxed and friendly studio. 

Students from Years 7 to 12 who would like to join co-curricular ceramics should contact Miriam Berkery. Parents/guardians will then be sent an Operoo notification to confirm your place in the group. Co-curricular Ceramics will run for Terms 1, 2 and 3. You do not have to commit to all three Terms. Joining for one or two terms is possible.

House Athletics Carnival

Wednesday 21 February

 

800m and 3000m events sign up:

The House athletics events for the 800m and 3000m for Years 7 to 12 students will be on Wednesday 21 February at the Domain Athletics Centre. A bus will pick up students at the following times:

  • Years 9 and 10 students from 12.30pm from the top courts - Elizabeth Street bus stop.
  • Years 11 and 12 students from Carr Street at 1.00pm 

The full day Athletics Carnival will be on Tuesday 27 February.

RoboCup Australian Open National Championships

The RoboCup is being held from Friday 18 October to Sunday 20 October 2024 in Brisbane. This event is a great opportunity for students to collaborate, share ideas, and draw inspiration from others around the country. The RCJA Australian Open serves as the qualification event for the RoboCup Junior International competition. In order to attend this event students must attend Robotics Club after school on a Monday.

Relay for Life 2024 - SIGN UPs CLOSING this MONDAY 19th FEBRUARY!!

This year’s Relay for Life will be held at the Domain Athletics Centre at the earlier date of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of February

 

Students in Years 7-12 are invited to join our team and walk for an hour or more with the Friendlies’ (between 1-10pm on Saturday and/or 6-9 am on Sunday) to help raise money and awareness in support of the Cancer Council Tasmania.  

 

Student sign-ups CLOSE on MONDAY 19th February so sign-up today to avoid disappointment!

Whole School BBQ - NEXT WEEK

Wednesday 21 February | 4.30pm - 6pm

A reminder that RSVPs for the upcoming Whole School BBQ are due by Sunday 18 February. Although this is a free event we require RSVPs for catering purposes. This event will be held at 395 Argyle Street Hobart - Walpole Courtyard.

 

 

We will be welcoming The Rotary Club of Lindisfarne to run a sausage sizzle, both gluten free and vegan options will be available. Two of our students, Amelia Cooper (Year 10) and Rupert Bullard (Year 12) will be performing and we will have giant lawn games to play.
