Junior School

Ash Wednesday

As we step into the season of Lent, marked by the grace-filled occasion of Ash Wednesday, there's a warm and inviting spirit that envelops our Junior School. Ash Wednesday is an important day, a day that gently nudges us to embark on a reflective journey leading up to the joyous celebration of Easter.

On this sacred day, our Junior School students, staff and parents gathered for a liturgy, where ashes were marked on foreheads in the form of a cross. This symbolic gesture carries with it a powerful message of humility, reminding us of our connection with one another and our shared journey towards spiritual growth.

Lent, the 40-day period that follows Ash Wednesday, is like a cozy cocoon that encourages us to pause, reflect, and engage in acts of kindness. It's a time of personal growth, where each small sacrifice or extra effort becomes a beacon of light in our collective pursuit of love, compassion, and understanding.

As our school community embraces this season with open hearts, let us encourage one another to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, and foster an environment of warmth and positivity. Through acts of love and reflection, we not only strengthen our bonds but also create a vibrant tapestry of compassion within our Junior School family.

Junior School House Swimming Carnival. A big round of applause and gratitude goes out to Luke Thompson and his dedicated team of parents, staff and outstanding House Captains for orchestrating a fantastic Junior School House Swimming Carnival. The cheers, laughter, and sportsmanship displayed by our boys were truly heartwarming. Luke Thompson and his team worked tirelessly to ensure that the event was not just a competition but an opportunity for our students to build camaraderie, showcase their talents, and most importantly, have fun. It’s these positive experiences that contribute to the holistic development of our boys.

A special mention is truly well-deserved for the Year Six House Captains tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth flow of the day, from timely races to fostering a positive and energetic atmosphere. Their commitment to encouraging and cheering on all the boys is truly commendable.

I feel a deep sense of pride in their extraordinary work on the day which is a sentiment that has been shared with me by parents and staff alike. It's moments like these that highlight the spirit of teamwork and leadership within our school community.

As we celebrate these moments, let’s also express our appreciation to all the participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Every stroke, dive, and cheer were a testament to the spirit of teamwork and unity that makes our school community so special. We look forward to more joyous occasions and collaborative efforts that contribute to the growth and happiness of our young learners.
