EREA Commitment to Child Safety

The Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia

Commitment to Child Safety and Safeguarding

The Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia | Commitment to Child Safety and Safeguarding Statement of Commitment to Child Safety is our fundamental commitment expressing that all Community members within EREA, its schools and its staff, contractors and volunteers place the safety and wellbeing of children at the centre of our interests, where ‘Children and young people have a right to feel safe and to be safe’.

‘Central to the mission of EREA is the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and adults enrolled in our schools (students). The Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia (TEREA) are committed to fostering a robust culture of safety across all the entities and schools that comprise our educational mission’.

The Trustees of Edmund Rice Education Australia | Commitment to Child Safety and Safeguarding is available on the EREA website and the Trinity College website. Furthermore, all staff, coaches, members of our School Advisory Council, regular contractors, regular volunteers, and all parents who attend overnight excursions complete annual training in the EREA Code of Conduct, which includes this Commitment to Child Safety and Safeguarding.

I strongly encourage you to read this powerful statement on our total commitment to the safety of each of your sons.

Vice Principal

We have scheduled our annual kitchen stocktake on Saturday, 24 February from 1.30pm onwards. Join us as we chat, count spoons and glasses, and organise cupboards, in preparation for the upcoming balls and other school events.

We are also seeking a parent/grandparent/carer who can sew, as we have a number of table runners that need hemming. Please let me know if you can assist.

Dates to note:

  • Ladies' Long Lunch - Friday, 17 May
  • Auxiliary Morning Tea – Friday, 16 August

I look forward to seeing you at a meeting or over a cup of tea soon!

Free Public Transport for Students

From Monday, 5 February 2024, any primary and secondary school students with a valid Student SmartRider will be able to travel for free on Transperth services for any journey Monday to Friday, until the end of the school year.

Students still need to tag on and off, or they will receive a default fare. If their SmartRider goes into negative balance as a result, they will not have access to free travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What if I don’t get my Student SmartRider until the end of February?

Given some students don’t get their SmartRiders until the end of February, if a student does not have a SmartRider on 5 February they will be allowed to travel for free without a valid ticket, however, from 1 March students must have their Student SmartRider to travel for free or purchase a cash ticket.

When students have received their Student SmartRider they should start using it immediately by tagging on and off each journey to avoid their SmartRider failing to activate.

2. Where can I find out more information about Student SmartRiders?
