School Council

Danny Benjamin

With 2024 well and truly underway I wanted to welcome everyone back CSPS and also welcome all the new families that have joined our school community.

It continues to be an exciting time at our school no more than the recent annual evening picnic to conclude 2023. This was another wonderful event and is always my personal favourite of the year. Thank you to all the organisers and volunteers that made it such a great evening.

Over the past few years the community have raised money to help the ongoing improvement of the school. That has seen, amongst other things, the creation of the shade sail program, new books for the library, new resources for STEM and mathematics, furniture and technology for classrooms and new uniform for the drum corps. In coming months, I am pleased to say that the last of the shade sail will be installed.

All the money that gets raised through the great work of the Parents Association is specifically targeted at things that will improve the school experience for our children. If you have any great ideas, I encourage you reach out to the PA and see what you can do to help.

In coming weeks school council elections will be held again. I want to thank the outgoing parent councillors Michael Ostroburski, Judith Cohen, Mark Lazaras, Don Buchanan and Charles Ngu for their immense contribution over the past two years. The remaining members who have another year to run are:

  • Louise Kuramoto
  • Natalie Ferguson
  • Gary Sacks
  • Danny Benjamin (me)

Being part of the school council is a great way to contribute to the community so please consider putting your hand up to be part of it – nominations are open until 4:00pm Monday 26th February. For those that want to better understand what happens on school council please reach out to one of us.

I hope everyone has a great year and please feel free to contact me if you have any thoughts, concerns or ideas I can help with.

Cheers
