Classroom Helper Training Session

Dear Parents/Carers,

Classroom Helper Training Session

Parents/carers as helpers are an invaluable component of our literacy program, offering extra support to students and teachers alike, and helping to build a sense of community and belonging. Parent helpers are generally required between 9 and 11 on Monday to Friday, depending on the schedule of each class. You can choose to help out weekly, fortnightly or whatever works for you, and you can stay for an hour or for the whole literacy block. If this sounds like something you are able to do we would love for you to join us for our 2024 Classroom Helper Training session.

Dates:

Wednesday 6th March 2.15-3.00pm OR

Thursday 7th March 9.00 – 9.45am

Venue: Community Centre

This is an invitation to all parents and carers with children from Prep - Year 6 who would like to assist in the classroom.

This session will cover expectations around becoming a classroom helper, as well as a brief outline of what Literacy instruction looks like in the classrooms at OLHC.

This session is compulsory for anyone interested in becoming a classroom helper. This could be in any capacity and not limited to Literacy.  All helpers are required to have a current Working With Children’s Check card and complete a volunteer application form which will be available at the training.

If you would like to attend, please send your expression of interest to Taya Eddy  (taya.eddy@olhceltham.catholic.edu.au).

Please ensure that you include your child’s name and class, along with evidence of your Working With Children’s Card.

I look forward to welcoming you as a classroom helper and thank you in advance for your support.

Taya Eddy
