Adrian's Tennis success at the DHOH National Championships in Melbourne
Year 8 Student, Adrian T, was recently invited by the National Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHOH) Tennis Coach, Alison Scott, to enter into the DHOH National Championships in Melbourne.
Tennis Australia commented,
"Adrian was a standout performer, excelling in the junior and senior sector. He went 1-1 in his two men’s singles group matches to finish third, then reigned supreme in the boys’ singles and junior doubles, capping off a stellar tournament.
Truong did not lose a match throughout the boys’ singles group stage, before defeating defending champion Panshul Puri 6-3.
The youngster also paired with Liam O’Loughlin in the junior doubles, remaining undefeated in the round-robin tournament."
Adrian's highlight was receiving an invitation to attend a training camp held at the national tennis centre in Melbourne Park, where he was coached by multiple high-level coaches. Here, he made many friends from all over Australia. He was most proud of winning both the singles and doubles.
Congratulations, Adrian, on your great success in Tennis last month! Well done! 👏
Three Emmaus students selected for the Football SA full-time state squads
Football South Australia (Football SA) runs comprehensive State Programs designed to identify, develop, and nurture elite and junior football (soccer) talent across South Australia.
Not one, but three of our Emmaus students have been selected into the Full-Time State Squads. Join us in congratulating the following students.
Year 5 student Pernella M has been selected for the U13 Full-Time squad. She started at the Adelaide West Jaguars at age 5 and went from strength to strength each year. She is a beloved member of every team she's played in. She's a fantastic player, teammate and character.
Year 7 student Kai M was selected for the U14 Full-Time squad.
Kai has been playing as a Junior in the West Torrens Birkalla Soccer Club for many years and will now play with a new logo!
We're so proud of your achievement and can't wait to see your talents develop even further!
Year 7 student Ella R was selected for the FootballSA U14 full-time squad. Ella has played for the Adelaide Comets Football Club and was one of six players from her club to get selected.
An outstanding achievement and a fantastic recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by Ella.
The commitment involves a full-time training environment featuring 4 or more sessions per week across a 44-week program.
The pathway connects directly into National Youth Teams (Joeys, Young Socceroos, Matildas), Adelaide United (U18-A-League), and Senior/State NPL clubs.
Congratulations to Pernella, Kai and Ella, your Emmaus community is so proud of you and prays your God-given talents will shine on the field.
