We have so much going on in the Library this Term which is just how we like it.

House Chess has begun in the Library each and every lunchtime. We are in full swing with our two Chess Captains, Ben and Anthony, keeping a calm presence over the proceedings.  Our wonderful Mrs. Herrmann oversees the draw each day, notifying upcoming matches via email and keeping the results up to date.  It takes quite a bit of effort and much patience.

With so much on offer over Lunchtimes it can be quite a task to coordinate the matches and players but we are now making excellent progress.

Just look at the concentration! Jessica Hein, Sebastian Rovers and James Wombwell deep in their matches.

HARI MERDEKA

August 17th marks the event of Indonesian Independence Day.  This week we were visited here in the Library by a group of Year 7 Students from their Language class all dressed up in typical Indonesian clothes and carrying the Indonesian flag.  They were obviously enjoying themselves enormously.

Uniting Church Hamilton Lunches

For the month of August we have had two days where our staff and students have voluntarily offered to provide lunch for up to twenty five local folks at the Uniting Church here in Hamilton.  This free lunch happens once a week much to the credit of everyone involved.

On August 1st, Mrs. Claire Toffolon accompanied five of our wonderful Year 11 students to the Church.  A beautiful lunch had been prepared by our Boarders’ Dining room staff, the superstars who are Mrs. Michelle Pitman and Mrs. Kylie Meade.

I shall include this week’s Volunteer group, so very ably made possible by our magnificent Marketing Team, in our next Newsletter.

When I see the students afterwards they are always glowing as they feel so uplifted regarding the Service they have given.  They receive a greater understanding of the very real needs that exist right beside us here in Hamilton. The people who come to the Church always enjoy the offerings provided. There is much love, gratitude and praise.

May the coming Spring fill your hearts with renewal and joy as we leave Winter behind us for another year.

Stay awkward, brave and kind.
