Art, Music and PE

In The Artroom…..
We had an excursion to see Possum Magic for the younger grades this week so art was tied into the book “Possum Magic” by Mem Fox. Students drew their own Hush possums and backgrounds then painted using watercolour paints.
Gr 3 / 4 continued with their weaving on a cardboard frame – completing them to an amazing standard, showing persistence and ‘never giving up’ skills throughout the challenging task. Gr 5/6 finished their woollen mandalas on the wooden frames then completed some finger knitting in their footy colours or desired colours to take home.
Photos of the students creating will be published on our Gray St Facebook page.
Our “wool club” this term is on a Wednesday lunch. There will be a limit to the number of students attending. If you would like to attend, you will need to write your name on the list next to the glass double doors. We will have 6 grade 5/6 girls running this with Ms Brown.
This week in wool club grades Prep – 1 used wool to make finger knitting bracelets, with many of them learning how to finger knit for the first time.
The Hamilton Rotary Art Show is also coming up in early October. Ms Brown has the application form if you are interested in participating in it, or you can go onto the website and fill in the forms.
Artists of the week are; (I will be handing out certificates next week as MS Brown was ill)
