Class 16

Project: Ready!

Term three has been quite busy as our students have participated in a huge range of activities and projects.

As part of our Mini Project, students were put to the test after learning all about the way our senses interpret different foods, students even had a little fun with a blindfolded taste test. As a class we learned about the differences between non-perishable, semi-perishable and perishable foods and correct food storage.

We have been collecting donations from many generous families across our school community to sort and deliver to our ‘Big Project’ organization of choice, MSFIN. Students have been rallying donations by making announcements over the school PA system, creating flyers and distributing these to classrooms, students and all around the school buildings to remind everyone to keep the donations coming. We are still collecting until term four and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been able to donate.

An exciting new program has begun for our students on a Tuesday. Project Ready is a certificate ll in active volunteering aimed at helping students best prepare for their future. Recently we had the opportunity to speak to people working in our community at Rosebud Plaza and asked them some questions we had about being in the workforce.

Wednesdays have been busy on the farm. Students recently found objects of interest and had the opportunity to investigate their specimen under a microscope. We also managed to find time to build a huge obstacle course including a sack race station, pat the friendly horses and have a fire to roast some marshmallows.
