Principal's Report

Term 1

As we move through to the middle of Term 1, it has been great to see how positively the year has begun. Students have settled confidently into their classes, are engaging purposefully in their learning, and are demonstrating our school values both in the classroom and in the playground. It has been wonderful to see the focus, cooperation and growing independence already evident in these early weeks of the year.

School Events

It was wonderful to see so many families join us for our recent Information Sessions from Upper Primary through to Year 12. Thank you to everyone who attended and took the time to connect with staff, hear about the year ahead, and spend time in your child’s learning space. These sessions are an important opportunity for us to work in partnership, and we truly value your engagement and support.

A special thank you also to our Lower Primary families who joined us for the Lollipops event. It was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, connection and community spirit. Opportunities like this remind us how important it is to come together, build relationships and celebrate our school community.

Reminder: Curriculum Day

A reminder to families that Tuesday 10th March is a Curriculum Day. There will be no school for students on this day.

We are very excited that our staff will be working with Dan Petro throughout the day. Dan brings extensive experience in supporting schools to strengthen teaching practice and student engagement, and we are looking forward to a valuable day of professional learning together. Days like this are an important investment in ensuring we continue to provide high-quality learning experiences for all of our students.

Home-School Communication Plan

Our Home–School Communication Plan was recently reviewed and updated at the end of last year.  This plan reflects the evolving ways families and schools connect and outlines how we can best communicate to support student learning and wellbeing.

We greatly value our strong partnerships with families and appreciate the ongoing engagement we receive from our community. Please remember that Compass remains our main platform for communication. If you need support accessing or using Compass, our school office team is always happy to assist.

Safe Parking

As we continue to prioritise the safety of our students, staff and community, I would like to remind everyone about safe car parking practices at both of our Concord School campuses.

Neither campus has a designated school car park, and parking in the surrounding streets can be limited. We understand this can sometimes make drop-off and pick-up times challenging, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.

A few important reminders:

  • Disabled parking spaces are limited and must only be used by drivers displaying a valid permit. These spaces are essential for members of our community who require accessible parking.
  • School driveways must remain clear during bus pick-up and drop-off times. Buses require full access to safely enter and exit the grounds, and any obstruction creates significant safety risks for students.
  • Please avoid double parking, stopping across driveways, or parking in no-stopping zones, even briefly.

The safety of our students is our highest priority. By planning a little extra time for parking and modelling safe, respectful behaviour, we help ensure calm and safe transitions at the beginning and end of each school day.

We are please to announce that Amelia is the recipient of the Principals Award.

Amelia is a kind and caring member of Upper Primary and a very deserving recipient of the Principal’s Award. She consistently demonstrates our SWPBS expectations in all that she does.

Amelia is a learner by following classroom and school routines, listening carefully, and approaching her learning with focus and enthusiasm. She demonstrates safety by making thoughtful choices that help create a calm and positive environment for everyone.

Amelia is responsible in the way she completes her work, looks after materials, and offers help without being asked. Above all, she is respectful, always ready to support her friends and teachers, using kind words and showing genuine care for others.

Amelia is a wonderful role model who strengthens our school community and helps everyone grow, connect and belong.
