3-Year-Old Kindergarten
In our first few weeks of ELC 3, the children have shown great courage as they learned to say goodbye to their grown-ups, find their belongings, and begin participating in daily routines such as singing the good morning song, toileting, group times, having snacks and lunches and packing up. They are learning classroom rules, building friendships, and contributing their ideas through conversations and our Floor Book, which helps them see that their voices are valued.
This positive transition supports the Early Years Learning Framework outcomes as children build identity, wellbeing, confidence and communication skills. From a biblical perspective, we see this as a special time where children step out from home into a wider community, learning to trust their teachers as caring adults who nurture and guide them.
Just as Scripture reminds us that children are a heritage from God.
They are precious and entrusted into our care (Psalm 127:3), we recognise the privilege and responsibility of nurturing them as they begin this new journey.
In partnership with families, we become another layer of trusted support—providing encouragement and comfort. Much like the biblical image of community raising and guiding children in love, our kindergarten becomes a place where children are known, valued and gently equipped to grow in confidence and character.
It has been a joy to witness the bravery and resilience shown these past few weeks. We are excited to continue walking alongside your children as they venture out into this new season—learning, exploring and flourishing within our kindergarten community.
The transformation of the ELC outdoor playground has been nothing short of amazing. The refreshed look and significantly expanded space have already made a wonderful impact, and we are truly grateful for the dedication, skill, and effort that went into bringing this project to life.
We deeply appreciate all the planning, coordination, and ordering of supplies, as well as the extensive labour from the maintenance team — especially while working through extremely hot and challenging weather conditions. Thank you!

4-Year-Old Kindergarten
Welcome to ELC 4 for 2026! It has been wonderful to see how well the children are settling into the program. The beginning of the year has been focused on building relationships, supporting smooth separations, and getting to know the routines of the day. The children have enjoyed many music and movement sessions such as parachute play, stretching lycra, waving scarves and tapping claves to the beat of the song.
A very big thank you to our Property Maintenance team for their hard work to extend the ELC yard, refresh the sand, and add new gravel to the mud pit. The addition of the new car was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. The children have shown much joy and excitement as they have explored their new area and are enjoying all of the extra space to run around.
We warmly welcome Mr. Landon Mason to the ELC team! Mr. Mason will be working one day a week with our ELC 4’s, and we are excited to have him join us. We look forward to seeing him flourish in this space and serve as a positive role model for our young children—especially our boys.

The Truth About Screens and Your Child
Right now everyone is focused on big kids and social media. The social media ban is everywhere. What no one is talking about is how younger children are being affected by screens. But we should be.
Take a walk in public spaces (cafes, parks, shops) and count the kids holding screens almost before they can hold up their heads. What do we know about kids and screens? And should we be worried? My answer: We know a LOT. And yes, we should be worried!
