Happy Families School Membership Live Event with Dr Justin Coulson
Anti-Fragile: Building Resilient Kids Through Life’s Challenges
Wednesday 25 February 2026 | 7PM
In Anti-Fragile, a webinar on building resilience in children, Dr Justin Coulson challenges the idea that childhood should be free from stress and struggle. He argues that challenges are essential for growth and that parents can empower their children by allowing them to experience developmentally appropriate adversity while providing the right kind of support to help them overcome it.
How do we help children build resilience and equip them to handle life’s inevitable volatility, challenges, and setbacks?
In this live webinar, Dr Coulson will explore:
- What resilience truly means and why it matters
- Why resilience is declining in our screen-focused world
- Why risky play and face-to-face connections support life skills and resilience
- How the current resilience deficit damages our children’s present wellbeing and future adult life
- Practical strategies to reverse this trend by helping your child forge a strong sense of identity, develop genuine competence, and build lasting hope.
New Parent Information Evening
The New Parent Information Evening is taking place on Thursday 26 February from 6:30 PM-8 PM. New families to the College are invited to come along and share light refreshments together in the G-Block gymnasium on South Campus.
This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, Bayside staff and Board members. Although we realise that it can be difficult for families with children to make it out at night during the week, we do ask that at least one parent from each new family be in attendance.
Please book tickets via the link below to assist us with catering.
Whole School Worship Assembly
The College has two Whole School Worship Assemblies per term and members of the Bayside community are welcome to attend. The next Whole School Worship Assembly is on Tuesday 3 March from 9 AM - 10 AM in the K-Block (Secondary) gym.
Parent Conferences
The Primary and Secondary Parent Conferences will take place on Tuesday 3 March 3:40PM to 8PM and Wednesday 4 March 10AM to 7PM. Conference bookings will be made through the online booking system "Booked (PTO)". Details for accessing and using the PTO system will be sent to you via email today, along with your login details. All bookings have the option of face-to-face or online meeting through MS Teams.
Secondary students are required to attend conferences with their parents.
We value your input and partnership, as working collaboratively helps us provide the best possible support for your child.
Student-Free Day
Wednesday 4 March is a student-free day for Primary and Secondary students to allow for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The ELC 4-Year-Old program will run its regular program.
Monday 9 March is the Labour Day Public Holiday. The College will be closed.
Easter Community Market
The first Community Market for 2026 will be on Thursday 12 March in G-Block from 3:15-4:00 PM. To book a stall, please email Mr Ken Berry ken.berry@baysidecc.vic.edu.au
Bayside Raiders Basketball Workshop - All Ages!
It is almost time to register for the winter season beginning after the Easter holidays, so we are running another basketball clinic!
When: Thursday 12 March
Time: 3:45 PM - 5 PM
Location: K-Block Gymnasium
If your child wants to participate, please drop them off at the K-Block gym at 3:45 PM and collect them at 5:00 PM. Ideally, they should wear runners to avoid slips and injuries.
If you have any questions about this or about the upcoming winter season, please contact ulli.austermann@baysidecc.vic.edu.au
Primary Swimming Lessons
From Monday 16 March to Friday 20 March, students will participate in a Swimming Program at PARC Frankston. Students in Prep to Year 4 will participate in five swimming sessions across the five days. The swimming program is a compulsory part of the Physical Education and Health curriculum at Bayside Christian College.
Permissions
Please log into your Sentral Parent Portal to acknowledge and grant permission for your child to attend. If you have any questions, you can email Mr Zacc Klan. Please also complete the online ability form link for each child that is participating in the swimming lessons.
