AngliSchools Vision for Learning

As a member of AngliSchools, our College is guided by their Vision for Learning. This shared vision shapes every aspect of our educational experience and reflects our commitment to creating learning environments that engage hearts, minds and spirits, empowering all learners to lead lives of meaning and purpose.

The AngliSchools Vision for Learning supports our work in helping students grow as lifelong learners, confident and creative individuals, and active, informed citizens. At our College, we embrace a love of learning and the challenge of excellence, while nurturing each student’s sense of purpose and connection to community.

The AngliSchools Vision for Learning is grounded in six key learner attributes:

The College is committed to continuing to make authentic connections between the AngliSchools Vision for Learning and our daily teaching practices, relationships and service learning. Our community plays a vital role in strengthening these connections, and over the coming newsletters I look forward to sharing ways you can engage with your young person at home through the lens of our learner attributes.

Collaborative

Learners learn in relationships. When classrooms function as a true learning group, adults and students alike are part of something larger than themselves that has meaning beyond the individual. In such learning communities, learners develop intellectually, socially and academically.

In action, learners:

  • respectfully share their ideas and alternatively listen to the ideas of others,
  • work with others to find solutions to problems, and
  • encourage and celebrate the success of all.

Questions you can ask your young person at home.

  • Who did you work with on a task today, and what made your teamwork effective?
  • Did you face a challenge with others today? How did your group solve it together?
  • What strengths did you bring to a group activity today?
  • Who would you like to work with more often, and why?
  • Can you think of a moment this week where your group accomplished something none of you could have done alone?

Student Progress Meetings

Thank you to all the families who have engaged in the Student Progress Meetings so far this year. We look forward to welcoming our Year 7–10 parents and carers on Thursday 19 March and Monday 20 April.

Year 7–10 first‑listed parents will have received an email from SchoolCloud with booking information. If you are unable to locate this email, please check your spam or junk folder.

Finally, thank you to the many families who have provided constructive feedback. Please be assured that this feedback will be actioned as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

NAPLAN 2026

NAPLAN for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 begins on Wednesday 11 March. These assessments provide a helpful snapshot of students’ literacy and numeracy development and complement the ongoing assessments made by teachers. All tests will be completed online, except for Year 3 Writing. If your child is absent, please follow the usual process and the College will arrange a catch‑up session within the testing window.

Please contact the College if you have any questions.
