Year 7-10 Student Progress Meetings

Year 7-10 families would have received an email invitation to book in for Student Progress Meeting on Thursday 19 March. This day is also a student free day for Year 7-10 students only.

There is an alternate program running for Year 11 and 12 Students which has been communicated to students and families.

Year 7 Camp

On Wednesday 18 February, our Year 7 students headed off to camp at Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp. Many of the students were very nervous about leaving their parents for three days but once at the camp their anxiety gave way to excitement.

The days were action packed with students taking part in mountain biking, canoeing, archery, abseiling, rock climbing and, of course, the giant swing!

The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for students to build resilience, make new friends work together and enjoy new experiences - a great way to begin their secondary school journey.

Thank you to all students for the way they embraced the camp experience and conducted themselves throughout. We also thank the staff who attended and supported the camp, contributing to a positive and rewarding experience for all involved.

University / TAFE Roadshow

Our Year 11 and 12 students had a fantastic opportunity last week at our University/TAFE Roadshow.

We were pleased to welcome representatives from Wodonga TAFE, TAFE NSW, La Trobe University, and Charles Sturt University.

Students explored a range of options, including university applications, scholarships, early entry programs, alternative pathways, degrees on offer, and what student life is really like.

It’s an exciting time as our future graduates begin mapping out their next chapter!

Elevate Education Empowers Years 10 & 11

This week, our Year 10 and Year 11 students participated in engaging study skills workshops delivered by Issy from Elevate Education. The sessions aimed to equip students with practical strategies for improving their study habits, managing workload, and building confidence as they progress through their senior years.

Our Year 11 students completed the Ace Your Exams workshop, which focused on exam‑specific skills such as breaking down questions, managing time effectively, and revising with purpose. Issy shared practical insights to help students prepare for high‑stakes assessments and approach their exams with clarity and confidence. Meanwhile, our Year 10 students took part in the Study Sensei program, where they explored the foundations of effective study, including note‑taking, planning, and active learning techniques. The workshop encouraged students to begin shaping strong routines now, setting them up for success.

Across both sessions, Issy drew on her own experiences as a university student and elite athlete, offering real‑life examples of balancing commitments, maintaining discipline, and staying focused under pressure. Her relatable perspective and energetic delivery resonated strongly with students, who engaged enthusiastically and left with practical strategies they can apply immediately.

We look forward to seeing how these new skills support our students’ organisation, confidence, and academic growth throughout the year.

Student Forum

Ms Kirrily Boyd

The first Student Forum meeting at the College on Tuesday Week 6, marked an exciting moment in strengthening student voice across the school.

This new leadership initiative brings together students from Years 7–11 who have been elected by their peers to represent their pastoral care groups. Meeting fortnightly alongside their House Captains, these student representatives provide valuable feedback, share ideas, and collaborate on meaningful ways to enhance the overall student experience. The Student Forum aims to foster a more connected, proactive, and student‑centred college community.
