Principal's Message
Mr Forrest
The more you participate the more points you earn. It is as simple as that to win the trophy!! I must congratulate Ansett on winning the Annual House Swimming Sports last Friday, for the third year in a row. Participation wins championships, Ansett had a high number of students participate in every event, while a large number of Jacka students chose not to attend. Thank you to staff for their wonderful organisation, the students who participated enthusiastically and parents who attended for their support. Thanks to the caterers for a wonderful BBQ lunch. An appreciation to students/parents for their understanding on changes due to unavailability of the toddlers pool. However, Billy Bears' 555 water bomb fight, running under the sprinklers and an ice cold zooper dooper made up for it.
Hopefully Jacka students can respond positively in the House Cross Country in Term 2!

Our Student Leadership Investiture for 2026 School Captains, House Leaders and SLC (Student Leadership Council) was held last Tuesday. We had a great representation of parents and friends which was greatly appreciated.
The process for selection of a leadership position involved different selection criteria, depending on the year level. Year 12 students had to complete an application, interview and student/staff voting process. Year 6 students were required to prepare and present speeches to their peers. The new look SLC will have new badges ordered and will be required to participate in a special ceremony later in the term.
SLC members are selected by a class vote from Year 3 to Year 11.
We look forward to seeing what our new school leaders achieve in 2026.

Thanks heaps Kylie for keeping us well fed. We especially love the ice cold zooper doopers on a hot day, with our Foundation students enjoying them recently. Over 700 zooper doopers dished out in hot weather so far!!

We have commenced planning for the annual Easter School Fete. The fete will be held on the last day of Term 1, Thursday 2nd April, commencing at 10 am. As it is the last day of our school term, we will finish the fete at 2:00 p.m. followed by presentations. School will finish at approximately 2:30 p.m. We will be asking for donations, stall holders and volunteers. Our Parents & Friends Association has already started with our annual Mega Easter Raffle. All friends, families and community members are most welcome to attend. We have booked 5 massive rides that will be free of charge, once again. More details will be released to the community over the next few weeks.

A reminder that the Friday before the Labour Day long weekend is a school curriculum day. No students will be at school on Friday 6th March. Teaching staff will be participating in professional development activities in the Bendigo region. Enjoy the extra long labour day weekend break.

Congratulations to Darcy McCallum (PE Teacher), Chelsea & Bella on the safe arrival of Lottie, Monday evening at 6:55 pm.
All doing well. We wish them all the very best for the future.

Wanted shoes or boots with character (no football boots). If anyone has some old shoes that are being a pain in the neck at the back door, are taking up valuable space in the shoe basket or need to be moved on from the kids room or the walk in robe please consider donating them to the school.
I need 15 pairs or 30 shoes all together for a visual display around the school. They can have holes in them but they must look like a shoe or a boot. They will not be returned and they will not be worn by anyone. They can be of any size and colour. Please send them to the front office for Mr Forrest.
