FROM THE TEAM

In STEM, students learn by doing! They design, build, test and try again as they explore science, technology, engineering and maths in fun, hands-on ways. Through games, experiments and real-world challenges, students ask questions, work together and think creatively. STEM lessons are all about curiosity, problem-solving and having fun while learning new skills that help students become confident, capable thinkers.

PREP

The Preps are learning about the senses. This week they created pan flutes out of straws to investigate sound. 

YEAR 1

The Year 1 students are examining how puppets move and what materials they are made of. This week, they have been making a plan about a puppet they are going to create in the coming weeks. 

YEAR 2

The Year 2 students are investigating how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to better our planet. This week, they reused paper to create something new and save paper from going into the landfill bin. 

YEAR 3

The Year 3 students are examining plastics and packaging. This week, they did a lunchbox audit to see which type of plastics our food has and which bins the rubbish would need to go in. 

YEAR 4

The Year 4 students are looking into weathering and erosion. This week, they participated in an experiment where skittles and water demonstrated the weathering and erosion process. Ask us about it! 

YEAR 5

The Year 5 students are developing their understanding of extreme habitats and how organisms interact within their environment to survive. This week, they created their own food chains using researched information to check they are factual and accurate. 

YEAR 6

The Year 6 students are investigating gravity and the solar system. This week, Year 6 students have been developing their knowledge of the Delightex program and their knowldge of the solar system, ready to create their own galaxy next week.
