YEAR 5

FROM THE TEAM

Our Year 5 students have continued to demonstrate Ramlegh Park values and expectations with pride. We have settled into positive routines and created supportive learning environments where students can thrive.

This week as part of our morphology studies, we explored the meaning of the base word ‘bio’. Students have been learning to summarise and pull the main ideas out of a text in reading. In writing, students independently crafted a persuasive text using the writing tools they have learnt over the past few weeks.

For Mathematics, we investigated multiplication and division as inverse operations and explored what this means in practice. We have also continued to strengthen our maths fluency skills, including skip counting, times tables and number bonds.

In inquiry, students have been developing their research skills to investigate key questions in Australian History. We have also focused on identifying, describing and managing intense emotions.

Next week is exciting for our students!! It’s our Cross Country on Thursday. The PE staff have been giving the students opportunities to work on their running stamina and fitness in preparation for their 3km run. We hope everyone has fun!
