Level 1

What a busy and rewarding few weeks it has been in Level 1. It is hard to believe we have nearly completed another term, with our final term of Grade 1 just around the corner.

Literacy

Over the past fortnight, students have been exploring different forms of poetry. Using a range of thinking routines, they have investigated the rules and structures of various poetic styles and generated creative ideas to incorporate into their own writing. The students particularly enjoyed writing their own limericks, which showcased both their humour and imagination.

Maths

In Maths, students have been developing their problem-solving strategies, with a focus on applying these approaches to sharing and grouping contexts. It has been wonderful to see their growing understanding of multiplicative and divisional thinking, as well as their ability to make meaningful connections to real-world situations.

Creek Excursion

Last week, students participated in excursions to Dandenong Creek on Thursday and Friday to investigate the impact of human activity on our local waterways. This was a valuable hands-on learning experience that deepened their understanding of environmental sustainability. We extend our thanks to Mrs. Whitfield for organising the excursion and to our wonderful parent volunteers for their support on the day.

Looking Ahead

We are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and curiosity our students have shown throughout Term 3. They have worked hard, supported one another, and have celebrated their learning along the way. We are very excited to see what Term 4 will bring as we enjoy our final term together in Grade 1.

We wish you a safe and relaxing holidays and look forward to seeing students back at school on Monday, 6th October.
