Level 5

What a wonderful term it has been! The Level 5 teachers are very proud of all that the students have achieved this term and our 3 Way Learning Conferences were an excellent reflection of this.

Celebrations from the week are:

Animal Adaptation Incursion - classes were enthralled by the wonderful presenter Bryce and his knowledge of all the different animals in his care.

District Athletics - Congratulations to Georgia Davis, who will be moving onto Division for Hurdles.

3-Way Learning Conferences - It was a truly wonderful to see how students were able to reflect on themselves and their learning from the lens of our school values. So many rich discussions and reflection on how they can work on this. We are all very proud of you Year 5s!

Literacy

Students have been immersing themselves in poetry through Reading and Writing. In Reading, students have been analysing poems and thinking deeply about what they notice. In Writing, we have been have been exploring poetry to portray emotions and hidden meanings. Students have been making excellent connections with our mentor texts and writing their own amazing poetry.

In Spelling, students have focused on emotions and expanding their vocabulary with new language, with the purpose of enriching their writing. Students created a class dictionary of new emotions, show don't tell through comic strips and guess my emotion performances.

Numeracy

Over the past few weeks we have been working on multiplication and division. Students have been exploring the link between these and building their understanding of inverse operations. As part of this we have been exploring the use of the 'Bus Stop' method for division.
