Curriculum Initiatives

Resilience Program

Over the past six weeks, our students took part in a Resilience Program led by visiting facilitator Sacha Kaluri. The program focused on resilience, teamwork, and leadership, and gave students the chance to build confidence, perseverance, and problem-solving abilities.

Each week, students joined in engaging activities that encouraged teamwork and communication. They worked in groups, tackled challenges, and shared thoughtful discussions that connected the lessons to real-life situations. Leadership was also explored, with students learning that it’s not just about big roles but also everyday actions like helping others, showing kindness, and taking initiative.

The program was both fun and meaningful, with plenty of energy, laughter, and even shared snacks that made the sessions extra special. By the end of six weeks, students walked away with stronger skills, deeper insights, and a clearer sense of how resilience and leadership can shape their daily lives. This was a good reinforcement of the Personal Development Skills covered within our Curriculum.

We sincerely thank Sacha for her time, creativity, and dedication in running such a valuable program for our school community.

Melbourne Career Expo

On 17th July, our students attended the Melbourne Career Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre. The event brought together universities, TAFE and training providers, employers, and industry professionals, giving students a chance to explore future career and study pathways.

This visit was a major part of our Work-Related Skills unit. Students enjoyed visiting the wide range of exhibitor booths, speaking directly with representatives, and asking questions about courses, training, and employment opportunities. Many also attended seminars on topics such as career choices, trades vs university, and preparing resumes and interviews.

The day was both inspiring and practical. Students discovered career options they hadn’t considered before, gained confidence about their next steps, and left motivated about their futures.

We are proud of how our students engaged with this opportunity and thank the staff who supported the visit.

Step Into Service Expo

On 3 September, our students attended the Step into Service & Support Jobs Expo in Craigieburn. The event showcased careers in health, community services, aged care, disability support, hospitality, and more.

Students had the chance to speak with industry professionals, learn about different roles, and explore training and study pathways such as apprenticeships, TAFE courses, and volunteering. Exhibitors shared hands-on demonstrations and real-life experiences, giving students a clear picture of what working in these fields is really like.

The expo highlighted the importance of skills such as communication, empathy, teamwork, and adaptability—qualities that are highly valued across service and support industries. Many students came away inspired, with new ideas for future study and career opportunities.

We thank our students for their enthusiasm and the staff for supporting this valuable learning experience.
