LEADERSHIP TEAM

Mr. Josh Willersdorf (Acting Principal)

Mr. Brad Vallance (Assistant Principal)

Ms. Kym Woolley (Assistant Principal)

This term has flown by, filled with some remarkable student achievements and memorable events.

Book Week was a real highlight, with both students and staff dressing up and creating a day full of fun, colour, and creativity.  Science Week was equally successful, with hands-on activities that offered enriching and engaging experiences for our students. We also ran TAFE short courses, providing valuable opportunities for students to gain new skills and qualifications.

The weather was perfect for our House Athletics, which saw the highest participation numbers in many years. It was fantastic to see so many students actively involved, making it a very enjoyable day for all.  Another standout event was the Debutante Ball — a wonderful evening where couples performed their dances with big smiles, before sharing the floor with their special guests. The atmosphere remained lively well beyond the formalities, and it was a joy to be part of such a memorable night.

We also held our Year 9 into Year 10 course counselling and Parent/Teacher interviews, both of which were highly successful. Students have represented the school proudly in several interschool sporting events, and the Year 10 Snow Camp enjoyed the best weather conditions in recent memory.

More recently, the school came together for R U OK? Day, which was filled with yellow and a range of activities that encouraged fun, connection, and awareness. A big thank you goes to our wellbeing team for their organisation and enthusiasm in making the day so positive.

We finished the term on a real high with Sports Colours Day. The highlight was the AFL match between staff and students, which brought plenty of fun, energy, and lots of laughs. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term together, with staff winning by 1 point!

Looking ahead to next term, our Year 12s will finish classes by week 3, before beginning their exams. Our Year 9s will be preparing for their upcoming Work Experience, and we’ll be welcoming the 2026 Year 7 cohort through Orientation days throughout the term.

I would like to congratulate Jen Chatfield, who will be stepping into an Acting Assistant Principal role for the remainder of the year.  Jen has been an integral part of our leadership team and will be a great asset in this role.  Jamie-Lee Nunn will now be supporting all students in years 7-9 and Amy Wilson will be supporting students in years 10-12 as the respective educational leaders.

Key Dates to Remember:

  • Monday, 3 November – Professional Practice Day (Student-free day)
  • Tuesday, 4 November – Melbourne Cup Day (Student-free day)
  • Wednesday 17 December – Awards Night at the Mildura Arts Centre

I hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and refreshing holiday break. We look forward to welcoming students back for our final term of the year on Monday, 6 October.
