From the Principal's Desk

Week 8
We have had a somewhat quieter week this week.
Last Friday we had a wonderful assembly for our Father's Day celebrations. Thank you to our P&C who organised the Father's Day gifts and BBQ. We hope all our fathers had a wonderful day on Sunday.
Sporting News
Congratulations to all our MGPS students who attended the Northwest PSSA carnival on Wednesday. It was great to hear that all our students had a great time with some letting the nerves get the better of them but were able to bounce back and be resilient.
We have several competitors heading off to the State Championships at Homebush in October. Our boys senior relay team came home with 1st place with a convincing 15m win. Congratulations boys, this is an outstanding achievement! Nixon and Oliver have also qualified in a number of events including 100m, 200m, long jump for Nixon and high jump for Oliver and the senior boys relay. Well done boys.
Cyber Safety - Are they old enough?
We are often asked for advice regarding online platforms such as Roblox, Minecraft, gaming and other forms of social media. eSafety has all the answers and more. This resource is fabulous for parents to navigate their way through todays world of technology.
Navigating key online milestones with your child can be challenging. You can use this advice to help you.
Parents and carers play a key role in guiding their children as they first encounter the online world and begin to learn through exploration, play and social interaction. Often it starts with asking some important questions.
When is your child old enough to take their first online steps and begin to explore on their own? How soon are they ready for their own devices, such as smartphones? How do you guide young people who are starting to use social media?
Here is the link to the page answering some key questions on the topic.
Stage 3 Guessing Competition
Stage 3 will be running a Guessing Competition to raise money for the Stage 3 camp to Coffs Harbour. Year 6 leaders will be coming around to each class and taking guesses for a gold coin over the next 3 Fridays for lolly jars. There is a lolly jar per stage to be won!! The winner will be announced in the assembly of week 9.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Have a wonderful week!
