Grade Prep

Fantastic Foundation
Term 4 is always the most rewarding term in a Prep classroom. We have seen our students absolutely flourish! They're writing on dotted thirds, reading their decodables fluently and counting so well. All year, they have worked really hard on putting their hand up to speak, ensuring only one person speaks at a time, and they have tried so hard to demonstrate all of our STAR values. We are extremely proud of all they've achieved. We cannot wait to see what grade one brings for this amazing group of kids!
Please enjoy the photos of our favourite moments so far this term!

Major Excursion to Pevan & Sarah and Bowling
Preps enjoyed a jam packed day full of adventures including the Pevan and Sarah concert, pizza at Rosalind Park, a visit to the Library, a game of 10 Pin Bowling, a play at Lake Weeroona, finished off with an icy pole treat before boarding the bus back to school. We did lots of walking and were proud of students' behaviour whilst they were out representing EPS.
Science
Preps learnt about Physical Sciences/Force/Push & Pull throughout Term 4. The culmination of this learning was designing, planning and building their own toy that could be pushed or pulled. We hope you liked their creations that they brought home!
Crazy Hair Day
Students enjoyed coming to school with their crazy hair styles to raise awareness and funds for Type 1 Diabetes. We also participated in a whole school walk along the bike track in solidarity with those living with this autoimmune condition.
Maths- Show Me The Money, Honey!
In Maths, the children have been learning all about money! Each Monday they were paid $50 in fun play money that had the teachers' faces on it! They could then earn, lose and spend their money throughout the week. The preps had so much fun setting up shops for their buddies to come along and purchase items from them using play money.
The Green Nest
The Preps have enjoyed learning in the Green Nest each Tuesday. We hope you love these photos of a recent lesson. The students counted out ten rocks at a time to add to the creek that the children have been building. We then had students demonstrate their knowledge of "Friends of Ten" by separating their rocks in to as many combinations as they could think of, eg 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 5 and 5, etc.
We hope you have enjoyed seeing some of what we have been up to in Prep!
We wish all of our Prep families a wonderful lead up to Christmas; the most wonderful time of the year! We hope you enjoy all the special festivities and that Santa visits your family!
Finally, we would like to thank you all for your wonderful support this year.
We have loved teaching your children and look forward to watching them continue on in their school journey.
Take care, from The Prep Team.
