Community Engagement

Bush Dance & Talent Show

Our students were outstanding in the performances at the Talent Show which began the St Roch's Family Bush Dance on Friday 24 October. We were so impressed with every act! Look out because St Roch's has talent!

The four judges, Robyn Dhanjee, Alex Keisler, Evie Roberts, Critchley and Michael Borromeo were spellbound by each performance. After consultation and checking scores on the rubric they awarded prizes to the following students who received prizes at Morning Greeting last week.

Thanks is due to Charlotte Moore and Jess Mount, who led this favourite Sty RFoch's event and to the P & F Committee led by David Crew and the huge team of parent volunteers who worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the Family Bush Dance and on the night to make it a huge success.  It was a night of community engagement and fun with the spirit of St Roch's evident wherever you looked!

Congratulations to Charlotte Strauss from the singing category who sang Mama Mia to an enthralled audience.

Congratulations to James Reynolds from the instruments category who played Metallica on his electric guitar and had the audience in silence.

Congratulations to Harriet Dabbs,  Margot Chevaux and Grace Burke who danced to Beauty and the Beat from the dance category whose energy and skill captured the audience.

There were four special mentions including an Audience Engagement Award.  George Sadler and Phoenix Barsoum both received this award for for their dancing and charisma on stage.

A  ‘Judges Award for Outstanding Talent Year 3 - 6' was given to Amelia Bawden for her Ballet/Contemporary dance solo.

And a ‘Judges Award for Outstanding Talent Prep - Year 2' was given to Lefteri Tiganis  for his outstanding violin playing of Waltzing Matilda.

Thanks to Toni Allen for all of her work to ensure the students were ready to perform on stage on the night and to Toni and Luke for their great MC's skills!

Gardening Club

The recent sunshine and rain has helped our garden bloom. Please come and have a look at the vegetables as they are thriving. There is always lots on offer for the students to enjoy each Wednesday at second break. Mrs Meseha plans engaging activities each week to stimulate the students interest in the garden whilst providing an inclusive space to play offering our students an alternative option at breaktime. Thank you Mrs Meseha!🌻

Thank you to our very dedicated group of students who are regular helpers in the garden. We know how powerful this opportunity is in supporting and enhancing all of our students wellbeing. We are very lucky!

St Roch's Colour Run - Wednesday 3 December

WARNING: Colour Explosion Incoming!  A message from Dave Crew!

Attention all students, staff and anyone who owns white clothing they don't mind becoming colourful - St Roch's legendary Colour Run is back on Wednesday, 3rd December.

This year, we've got something EXTRA special planned that might just make you feel like you are running on Cloud 9... but we've already said too much!

The event will unleash chaos…… we mean fun!!! Right here in our own school. Prepare to be turned into walking talking rainbows as you run, skip or cartwheel your way through clouds of colour. By the end, your parents won't recognize you.

HELP! We Need Brave Adult Volunteers! Are you a parent who enjoys controlled chaos? Do you like throwing coloured powder at children? (In a fun, supervised way, of course!) Then we need YOU! Sign up to volunteer and join the madness.

The Boring But Important Bit: Logistics, timing, and instructions will be sent out closer to 3rd December.

Let's Raise Money for Our School!  Now it's time to start fundraising!
