STEAM and Digital Technology

This week our STEAM and Digital Technology elective classes enjoyed an incursion with STEM Punks. Students spent the day learning how to code using Micro-bits and remotely control autonomous rovers. The incursion was co-ordinated by Inland Rail as part of their community outreach program and also included visiting engineers and project managers who are working on the local sections of the rail corridor upgrades. It was very interesting to hear about their various pathways into engineering and the amazing projects that they have been involved with during their careers.
The day involved learning new skills, problem solving and prototyping - which was both frustrating and rewarding!
Well done to all the students who participated.
